Middle School Lockers 2015-16

In the new 2015-16 school year, only 7th & 8th graders will be issued lockers.  The only lockers that will be in use will be the "tall" lockers. Students that had a tall locker last year will stay in the same locker in 2015-16.  Students that did not have a tall locker assigned to them last year have now been issued one. If you would like to try your new locker out this summer so you are ready for the first day of school just give us a call here at school so we can help you out. Unfortunately, we do not have enough lockers for 6th graders in 2015-16.

Kindergarten Ready

Santa Ynez High School's Future Educators of America has developed an innovative program called KindergartenReady. Click HERE to check out how it can help you with your children ages 4 - 6.

Healthy Food Choices

Vista students are able to select healthy fruits and vegetables thanks to our amazing Food Service Coordinator, Corina Raya.  Thanks Corina!

Red Ribbon Week Aerial Photos

For Red Ribbon Week 2012, Vista's student body and staff dressed in red and formed the "V."  In 2013, we did the same thing for the letter, "I." In 2014, we curved around and made our "S."  Guess what's next?  Can you remember where you were in all three pictures?

State Standards

Vista's teachers have wholeheartedly embraced the transition to new State Standards.  Besides continuing to gain a deeper understanding of the standards themselves, teachers are using programs such as College Preparatory Math (CPM), Engage New York Math, and Lucy Calkins's Writer's Workshop in their classrooms. We are also focusing on the 8 Standards of Mathematical Practice (SMPs) across the entire school Preschool - 8th Grade.  Below are some helpful links you can use to learn more about the standards yourself.
